Five
(5) Financial protocols had been signed and
implemented as follows:
1). 1979 -
1983 : 30 mill. Ecu
Share for
Turkish Cypriots : Zero (0)
Reason given:
Turkish Cypriot projects based on Greek Cypriot land!
(this claim
applied only to 10% of projects from Turkish side
where as Greek projects were also partly based on
turkish Cypriot land)
Condition:
The EU made an
offer to the Turkish side to facilitate the
construction of a sewage system together with the
Greek side of Nicosia against a 6 mill. Ecu and a
higher share from the second protocol!!
The
reason behind this move was that without the co-operation
of the Turkish Cypriot side, the Greeks could not
complete their project.
2). 1984 -
1988 : 44 mill. Ecu
Share for
Turkish Cypriots : 2,2 mill. Ecu (5%) for use in
repairing pavements in the North damaged during
laying the sewage pipes, and upgrading Girne Avenue.
3). 1989 -
1993 : 62 mill. Ecu
Share for
Turkish Cypriots : zero (0)
Turkish
Cypriots were offered 10 mill. Ecu but only if they
accepted the authority of the Greek Cypriot
government (They refused of course).
4). 1995 -
1998 : 74 mill. Ecu

5). 2000 -
2004 : 57 mill. Ecu

In
addition to all this, the EU-Court decision of July
1994 had forbidden the exportation of citrus fruits
and potatoes (the only two export products of the
TRNC) from the TRNC to the EU. This was nothing else
than a political decision to force the Turkish
Cypriots to surrender to the Greek Cypriots. Note
that the 38 mill. Euro is again meant to facilitate
the so-called re-unification, which in other words
meann Hellenisation of the island!!
Successive Greek Cypriot leaders sought to convey
the impression of honest and friendly leaders with
nothing to hide, who seek only peace and harmony for
all the people of Cyprus. However, they continuously
blocked the freedom of speech, movement and
development of the poor Turkish Cypriots.
The
administration of South Cyprus (Greek) has no legal
or moral right to claim to represent anyone except
the Greek Cypriot people. The self- assumed title of
the "Government of Cyprus" has no jurisdiction to
represent or act on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot
people, whose sole, legitimate representatives are
those elected under and by virtue of the
constitution of the Turkish Republic of Northern
Cyprus (TRNC).
The
final chapter of the Cyprus Conflict between the two
peoples of Cyprus who lived on the isdland for more
than 4 centuries has yet to be written. But, what is
clear, is that the Turkish Cypriots have for the
past 23 years (15. November 1983) established their
independent state in the North and pose absolutely
no threat to the Greek Cypriots in the South. They
are grateful to Turkey, who as one of the guarantee
powers of the 1960 agreements, rescued them in 1974
from 11 years of terror, massacre and misery -
perhaps even from total annihilation.
Long
live the TRNC and thanks to the Turkish Republic for
its support.
