GREEK CYPRIOT-BRITISH COOPERATION: DON’T BUY GOODS FROM
TURKISH CYPRIOTS
The Greek Cypriot Administration, who is trying to
prevent those Greek Cypriots crossing over to the TRNC from purchasing any
goods in the North, have now started to cooperate with officials from the
British Bases for this purpose.
Officials from the British Bases, who are cooperating
with the Greek Cypriot Administration in their efforts to prevent Greek
Cypriots from shopping in the North, in a sign in Turkish, Greek and English,
put up at the Dhekelia Base it was written that it was illegal for anyone to
purchase goods from the TRNC, they would be fined, and any purchased goods
would be confiscated.
Beyarmudu residents said the Greek Cypriot District
Governor had the sign put up at the Dheklia Base, which has now been there
for weeks and they strongly protested the British Bases Administration for
cooperating with the Greek Cypriot Administration.
