CYPRIOT ATTORNEY-GENERAL MARKIDES: “TRADING WITH THE TRNC IS NOT
ILLEGAL” (20.12.01)
Speaking at the meeting of the Greek Cypriot House Refugee
Committee on December 20, 2001 Greek Cypriot Attorney-General Markides said
that trading with the TRNC was an absolutely legal activity, and added that
its legality is secured and imposed with the decision of European Court.
Responding
to the Greek Cypriot MPs claiming that the government should put an end to
this activity, Markides said such an action would hurt the EU membership of
the Southern Cyprus.
