127 GREEK CYPRIOTS IDENTIFIED BY DNA TEST

According
to the Greek Cypriot daily “Filileftheros”, 127 Greek Cypriots buried at
the Ay.Eleni and Ay.Konstantinu cemetery and at the Lakadamya military
cemetery in South Cyprus, were identified
with DNA tests applied to their remains.
Following
the test it was determined and approved that 18 Greek Cypriots, who were
listed on the Greek Cypriot missing persons list, were actually not missing
but deceased and that 96 of them were those Greek Cypriots who lost their life
during the events in 1974.
It
was also reported that previously 1619 Greek Cypriots were listed on the
Greek Cypriot missing persons list and after the determination of these
deceased Greek Cypriots, there were 1479 Greek Cypriots remaining on the list.
