The Greek Cypriot administration’s
harassments are escalating in the mixed village of Pile, which is under the
control of the United Nations.
Greek Cypriot civilian policemen, who are
prohibited to patrol in the village, tried to arrest British citizen, Ian
Douglas Litter, for shopping from a Turkish market.
Although UN authorities later arrived at the
scene of the incident, Greek Cypriot civilian police had seized the passport
of the British man in question with the purpose of continuing the
investigation.
