PRESS REPORTS ON TASOS PAPADOPOULOS’ PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDACY (05.08.02)
Among
international dailies reporting South Cyprus as being the major headquarters
for the money laundering activities of former Yugoslav President Slobodan
Milosevic, German daily ‘Die Tage Szeitung’ has also followed the lead.
In
its article, the daily drew attention to the role played by DIKO Leader, Tasos
Papadopoulos’ law firm in the laundering of Milosevic’s money.
The
German daily used the following headlines; “Past political mistakes of E.U
candidate…The name of Cyprus’ other President could be Tasos Papadopoulos.
DIKO Leader Tasos Papadopoulos’ economic connections with former Yugoslav
President Milosevic”.
