EOKA WAS A TERRORIST

According
to the Greek Cypriot daily ‘Simerini’, Assistant Professor Aleksis
Irakliis and History Professor Antonis Liokos, both from the University of
Athens, speaking during an event organized by the Greek Cypriot Pedagogical
Research Club (OPEK) on ‘EOKA’s history and struggle, referred to EOKA as
being a terrorist organization.
Reacting
to the words of the two Greek Professors, Greek Cypriot History Analysts,
Dimitris Talyadoros and Filozof Savas Pavlu strongly criticised the two
professors and defended EOKA’s so-called ‘legitimate struggle’.
Responding
to these criticisms, Professor Iraklis said, “after hearing what Talyadoros
and Pavlu have just said, my views on why the Cyprus issue has remained
unsolved has now became much clearer”.
