LEADERS IN CYPRUS TO
MEET AT THE END OF MARCH
The two leaders in Cyprus
President Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek Cypriot leader
Dimitris Christofias are expected to meet at the end
of March.
Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris
Christofias met with the United Nations Special
Representative in Cyprus and UNFICYP Chief of
Mission Michael Moller yesterday (3 March).
Speaking after the meeting,
Moller said President Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek
Cypriot Leader Dimitris Christofias could meet in
the second half of March and added that he would be
making the preparations for that meeting.
The meeting, which is expected to
take place at the end of March, will be the first
meeting between President Talat and the Greek-Cypriot
leader Christofias since he won presidential
elections on the 24th of February in
South Cyprus.
TRNC TO BE PROMOTED
IN ITB BERLIN TOURISM FAIR
The Turkish Republic of Northern
Cyprus will be promoted in the “ITB Berlin 2008
Tourism Fair” which is one of the world’s most
important and biggest tourism fairs.
The TRNC will be promoted at a
120 square meters fairstand in Berlin Fair which
will take place between 5-9 March and will be
attended by around 11 thousand tourism companies
from more than 180 countries.
Minister of Economy and Tourism
Erdogan Sanlıdag and the sector representatives will
attend the fair. Delegations from Cyprus Turkish
Hoteliers Association (KITOB), Cyprus Turkish Travel
Agencies Union (KITSAB), Cyprus Turkish Tourist
Guides Union (KITREB), Cyprus Turkish Restaurateurs
Association (RES-BIR) and Turkish Cypriot media
representatives will also attend the fair.
